Accelerometer

ILC/PT Vibration 106/206/406 Kit contains three different transducers (1 Voltage type, 1 Charge type, and 1 Strain Gauge or Capacitive type). Participants have the option of completing one or more accelerometers, based on their capability.

It is intended to demonstrate technical competence for measurement, calibration, control and operation of an accelerometer calibration system utilized for calibration of various vibration transducers. Participant is expected to make a total of 16 measurements (for each accelerometer) between the ranges of 1 g to 10 g and 10 Hz to 10 kHz. This ILC is to be reported in mV/g.  

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

**TRAVEL KIT: This kit travels with the VIBRATION-106 and VIBRATION-206, should you decide to participate in either or both ILC/PTs there is an additional $100 fee per ILC/PT.

Torque Screwdriver Set

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to evaluate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a Torque Screwdriver Set.

By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with like equipment. The kit consists of four torque screwdrivers. Range of measurements are 20 ozf·in to 36 lbf·in. 

Participants are expected to be familiar with and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for the calibration of similar devices.

Torque Wrench Set

The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s methods, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of torque by comparison of reported data and uncertainties to the data and uncertainties of other laboratories measuring the same data points on the same artifacts. 

This ILC/PT Kit contains three wrenches for a total of 9 measured value (MV) points.  Ranges of each wrench is as follows: M100 1/2 - 20 to 100 ft. lbf, 2SDR 150I MG - 30 to 150 in lb, and the 3sdr 750i - 150 to 750 in lb. 

Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make Torque measurements.  Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Torque Wrench Set

The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s methods, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of torque by comparison of reported data and uncertainties to the data and uncertainties of other laboratories measuring the same measured values on the same UUT. 

This ILC/PT contains 2 torque wrenches: one digital 1800 in*lb and one flat beam 600 in*lb.  

Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make torque measurements at three measured values per wrench for a total of six measured values in the range of 100 to 1800 in*lb.  Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participant laboratories to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the their practices, training, and measurement uncertainties relating to the measurement of Torque by comparison of reported data and uncertainties to the data and uncertainties of other laboratories measuring the same data points on the same artifacts.

This ILC/PT Kit contains 4 Torque Wrenches: two Digital 1800 in*lb and 2 Flat Beam 600 in*lb Wrenches.

Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make Torque measurements at three Set Points per wrench for a total of 12 Set Points in the range of 100 to 1800 in*lb. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Torque Transducer

This program is offered to laboratories simulating torque measurements with transducers or the combination of weights and arms.

Participants measure torque in the clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) direction from 200 lbf*in to 2000 lbf*in. The results are provided in mV/V with the reported uncertainty. The associated uncertainty for this program is in the range of 0.002 mV/V to 0.004 mV/V.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

Torque Wrench Set of 3 Wrenches

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of Torque Wrenches with a reference uncertainty of 2% i.v. on pound*inch range and 1% i.v. on pound*foot range.  

This ILC/PT Kit contains three Torque Wrenches, covering ranges 30 in*lb to 540 in*lb and 20 ft*lb to 90 ft*lb. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make measurements of Torque at nine set points (three set points per wrench). Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Test Blocks

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the discipline of hardness calibration. This ILC/PT Kit contains a set of six Rockwell Testblocks.

Participant laboratories will need to warm up their hardness tester using their own blocks, and are asked to make a total of 6 measurements between the ranges of 45 to 100 HRBw and 20 to 65 HRC.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Digital Thermometer.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a Digital Thermometer with Probe. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make 4 measurements of temperature from -4 °F to 248 °F.  UUT resolution is 0.1 °F.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for laboratories to evaluate practices, training, and measurement uncertainties in the calibration of timing parameters. This kit includes a digital tachometer and stopwatch.

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in the measurement of surface finish using appropriate equipment, procedures, and their ability to follow measurement instructions. 

This ILC/PT Kit contains three artifacts with varying surface parameters.  Participants will use their lab practices to perform surface finish Ra measurements in the range of 12 µin to 118 µin. Measurement values will be appropriate for measurement of similar surfaces.

Acoustic Measurement

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in the calibration of a sound level meter using appropriate equipment, procedures, and their ability to follow measurement instructions.  

This ILC/PT Kit contains a sound level meter.  Participants will use their lab practices to measure the characteristics of a sound level meter by generating their own levels. The 6 available measured values are 50 dB & 100 dB at 100 Hz, 1 kHz, and 8 kHz.

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in measuring RF Power Meter Reference and Power Sensor Cal Factors. 

By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurements associated with these parameters. Associated reported uncertainties of the measurement made will also be evaluated as part of this ILC/PT. Participants are required to make a measurement of the artifact parameters within their stated capabilities.

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a Digital Pressure Gauge.  This particular cage can use both types of media to drive the internal mechanisms.

Participants are asked to make 9 pressure measurements from 0 to 10,000 psi in ascending and descending set points. The resolution of the digital artifact is 1 psi. Pressure medium - use only clean, dry non-corrosive gases (pneumatic). The manufacturer specification for artifact accuracy is 0.1% FS (FS = 10,000 psi).
