The intent of the OSCOPE-1024 ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant laboratory to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant methods, procedures, training and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the calibration of parameters associated with a typical Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) within the reported uncertainty of the laboratories measurement and calibration processes.

Both amplitude and time/frequency measurements are offered on a 200 MHz, 2 GS/s DSO, to include: DC Gain, Bandwidth, Sample Rate & Time Delay, Time Marker, and Squarewave.  This kit has 13 measured values with this ILC-PT.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

IR Thermometer (-20 °C and 750 °C)

The intent of the Temp-IR-224 is to provide a means for the participant lab to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the ability of the lab to generate and measure infrared temperatures using a calibrated infrared thermometer. The participant infrared standard will be used as a source for all measurements.

This ILC/PT Kit contains an IR Thermometer with 0.1 °C resolution and 1% / 1 °C (whichever is greater) accuracy spec. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make 8 measurements of temperature between -20 °C and 750 °C.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

Function Generator (Calibration in AC Amplitude, Sinewave, Harmonic Distortion and Amplitude Flatness)

The intent of the HP-33120A-3024 is to provide a means for participant labs to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in calibrating a Function Generator.

The kit includes HP 33120A Function Generator. Participants are asked to make 17 measurements including: 3.5 Vrms, AC Amplitude at 1.0 to 7.0 Vrms @ 1 kHz, AM Depth and FM Deviation, several Harmonic Distoration measurements, and Amlitude Flatness of 3 Vrms from 1 kHz to 15 MHz.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

The primary purpose of the Pipette-621 is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s equipment, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of POVA (Piston-operated volumetric apparatus) also known as Piston Pipettes.

By participating in this ILC organizations have an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a POVA. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the parameters associated with a POVA. Associated reported uncertainties will also be evaluated as part of this ILC/PT. 

This kit includes 5 Fixed Volume Pipettes ranging from 50µL to 1000µL.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a 7.5 digit DMM. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 15 measurements of voltage and current. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Torque Sensor (100 N·m to 1000 N·m)

The intent of the TORQ-SENSOR-1224 is to provide a means for participant labs to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Torque Sensor.

The kit includes Moorhouse Torque PT and C705P Load Cell. Participants are asked to make 10 measurements of Torque from 100 N·m to 1000 N·m. The most common method used for this ILC/PT will consist of tests weights and torque arm.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

Thread Plug Gauge Set

The primary purpose of this THTP-5024 is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s methods, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of thread set plug gauges.  This kit consists of ¼-20 UNC-2A, 10-32 UNF-2A, 3-56 UNF-2A.

Participants are asked to make 12 measurements that focus on the pitch diameter and major diameter (full form) for various thread standards and conditions (GO and NO GO), with values reported in inches and accompanied by measurement uncertainties.

The intent of the HGTG-7024 ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant's practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of an Electronic Height Gauge.

This ILC/PT Kit contains an electronic height gauge with a 0.0005-inch resolution with a stated manufacturer's accuracy of ±0.001 inches. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with like equipment. The kit consists of four torque screwdrivers. Range of measurements are 20 ozf·in to 36 lbf·in.

Torque Wrench Set

The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s methods, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of torque by comparison of reported data and uncertainties to the data and uncertainties of other laboratories measuring the same data points on the same artifacts. 

This ILC/PT Kit contains three wrenches for a total of 9 measured value (MV) points.  Ranges of each wrench is as follows: M100 1/2 - 20 to 100 ft. lbf, 2SDR 150I MG - 30 to 150 in lb, and the 3sdr 750i - 150 to 750 in lb. 

Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make Torque measurements.  Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

This program is offered to laboratories simulating torque measurements with transducers or the combination of weights and arms.

Participants measure torque in the clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) direction from 200 lbf*in to 2000 lbf*in. The results are provided in mV/V with the reported uncertainty. The associated uncertainty for this program is in the range of 0.002 mV/V to 0.004 mV/V.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of Torque Wrenches with a reference uncertainty of 2% i.v. on pound*inch range and 1% i.v. on pound*foot range.  

This ILC/PT Kit contains three Torque Wrenches, covering ranges 30 in*lb to 540 in*lb and 20 ft*lb to 90 ft*lb. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make measurements of Torque at nine set points (three set points per wrench). Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.
