The intent of the OSCOPE-1024 ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant laboratory to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant methods, procedures, training and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the calibration of parameters associated with a typical Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) within the reported uncertainty of the laboratories measurement and calibration processes.

Both amplitude and time/frequency measurements are offered on a 200 MHz, 2 GS/s DSO, to include: DC Gain, Bandwidth, Sample Rate & Time Delay, Time Marker, and Squarewave.  This kit has 13 measured values with this ILC-PT.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

The intent of the DMM-1119 is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a 7.5 digit Digital Multi-function Meter (DMM).

This ILC/PT Kit contains a 7.5 digit DMM. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 15 measurements of voltage and current. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

High Resistance Decade Box (100 MΩ to 1 TΩ)

The purpose of the HIGH-RES-5024 ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a High Resistance Decade Box.

Participants are asked to make 5 measurements from 100 megaohms (MΩ) to 1 teraohm (TΩ), all measured at 1000 volts DC (VDC).

Participants are expected to be familiar with and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibrating similar devices.

Standard Inductors

This set of three inductors (SIND-216) covers the range of 1 mH to 200 mH. This test was developed as a means for the calibration laboratory to validate its ability to measure inductance.

Standard frequencies of 100 Hz, 400 Hz and 1 KHz are included. The associated measurement uncertainty for this set ranges from 0.0007 mH for the smaller inductor and 0.2 mH for the 200 mH.

Air Resistor Set

The intent of the RESISTANCE-415 ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of Air Resistors.

This set of three precision resistors provides an opportunity for the calibration laboratory to demonstrate technical competence in utilizing resistance measurement capabilities.  The ranges of values are from 100 Ω to 100 MΩ and corresponding uncertainties range from 80 µΩ to 0.0005 MΩ. 

Participants are expected to be familiar with the artifacts in the kit and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibrating similar devices.

Air Resistor Set

The intent of the RESISTANCE-314 ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of Air Resistors.  

This set of four precision resistors provides an opportunity for the calibration laboratory to demonstrate technical competence by utilizing resistance measurement capabilities. The ranges of values are from 33 mΩ to 390 MΩ and corresponding uncertainties range from 0.00066 µΩ to 0.038 MΩ.

The intent of the RESISTANCE-201 ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of Air Resistors.

This set of six precision resistors in RESISTANCE-201 provides an opportunity for the calibration laboratory to demonstrate technical competence utilizing resistance measurement capabilities. The ranges of values are from 1 Ω to 1 GΩ and corresponding uncertainties range from 10 µΩ to 50 kΩ.

LCR Meter

The intent of the LCR-METER-108 ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to determine their proficiency (e.g. use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of an LCR meter. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurements associated with capacitance, inductance, and impedance. Calibration standards will be supplied by the participant at 100 pF, 100 nF, 10 µF, 1000uF, 100 µH, 1 mH, 100 mH, 10 Ω, 1000 Ω, 1 MΩ.

Participants will not adjust the LCR meter but use their standards and report the difference in readings between their standards and those obtained from the LCR meter.

5.5 Digital Multimeter

The primary purpose of the DMM-918 ILC/PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of a 5.5 Digit Multimeter (DMM).

Participants in DMM-918 will use their established methods and procedures to perform a pre-determined set of 19 measurements across the ranges and functions of a 5.5 DMM, to include measurement of AC Voltage, DC Voltage, AC Current, DC Current, Resistance, and Frequency.

Capacitors

The intent of CAPACITANCE-1409 is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of Fixed Capacitors.

This ILC/PT Kit consists of seven GenRad capacitors in the range of 0.001 µF to 0.5 µF. Participants are expected to be able to characterize each capacitor and report the measured values within their reported uncertainties. The frequency of test will be at 1 KHz.
