IR Thermometer (-20 °C and 750 °C)

The intent of the Temp-IR-224 is to provide a means for the participant lab to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the ability of the lab to generate and measure infrared temperatures using a calibrated infrared thermometer. The participant infrared standard will be used as a source for all measurements.

This ILC/PT Kit contains an IR Thermometer with 0.1 °C resolution and 1% / 1 °C (whichever is greater) accuracy spec. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make 8 measurements of temperature between -20 °C and 750 °C.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

Thermistor Probe

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a 10 kΩ Thermistor Probe.

This is a four terminal device requires current from 2µA to 10µA. Participants are requested to make 4 predetermined measurements from 0 °C to 100 °C with five inch immersion. Best Measurement Capability of participant should not be greater than the accuracy of the UUT. Uncertainties expected will range from 0.017 °C to 0.13 °C.

Participants are expected to be familiar with, and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

Type S Industrial Thermocouple

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a Type S Industrial Thermocouple.

Participants are asked to make 5 measurements with a thermocouple over the range of 1000 °F to 2000 °F. Associated reported uncertainties will also be evaluated as part of this ILC/PT.

This program is intended for laboratories with the ability to calibrate to a much higher temperature. This 1000 °F to 2000 °F thermocouple has excellent short term stability and has been valuable for laboratories with uncertainties in the range of 1 °F to 4 °F.

Digital Thermometer with Probe

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Digital Thermometer. 

This ILC/PT Kit contains a Digital Thermometer with Probe. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make 4 measurements of temperature from -20 °C to 120 °C. UUT resolution is 0.01 °C. UUT manufacturer accuracy spec is +/- 0.012 °C.

Glass Thermometers - Full Immersion

This program consists of five glass thermometers covering a measurement range of - 0.7 °C to 150 °C. Laboratories have the option of calibrating one or more thermometers.

A temperature bath and precision monitoring instrument will be required to perform this ILC/PT. The temperature resolution varies from 0.1 and 0.2 °C depending on the thermometer selected. Laboratories with measurement uncertainty in the range of 0.05 °C to 0.3 °C would benefit from this test.

Process Controller

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Process Controller.

The temperature range is from 0 °C to 990 °C with expected measurement uncertainties from 0.25 °C to 1.0 °C. The 4 mA to 20 mA output is also calibrated with uncertainties in the 0.01 mA to 0.02 mA range.

Participants are asked to simulate input values and measure output current from the controller.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of Thermocouple (TC) Simulation.

Resistance Temperature Detector

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to evaluate their practices, training, and measurement uncertainty in the calibration of a RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector). This ILC/PT Kit contains a RTD Probe and Digital Readout Device with 0.01 °C resolution.

Participants will use their lab practices to perform 14 temperature measurements from: -75 °C to +150 °C. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Hart Scientific PRT

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a four terminal Platinum Resistance Thermometer.

Participants are requested to make eleven measurements from -196 to 410 C. The probe should be immersed to a minimum depth of 4".

The pivot lab uncertainty ranges from 7.2 mK to 18 mK.

Participants are expected to be familiar with this device and have appropriate lab equipment and measurement uncertainties for calibration of similar devices.

Humidity Sensor Kit for Salt Solution

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to demonstrate laboratory ability to make humidity measurements by means of calibration of a Humidity Sensor via reference salt solutions.

No other means of humidity generation is allowed for this ILC, i.e. generation of humidity in a chamber. This ILC/PT Kit contains a Digital Humidity Indicator with sensor. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 7 measurements of Relative Humidity percent from 10.00 to 90.00 %RH. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.
