Peter Unger, IQEIS Executive Director, Appointed to NAPT Board of Directors, Named Director of Accreditation Services

Eagan, MN, November 19th, 2024 – The National Association for Proficiency Testing (NAPT), the most trusted name in the metrology community for providing administration, development, software tools, and support for interlaboratory comparisons, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Unger to its Board of Directors as the new Director of Accreditation Services. A respected leader in the metrology and testing industry, Unger’s appointment broadens the NAPT team and increases its expertise in measurement reliability and accreditation. 

Unger’s extensive experience includes his former roles as President of A2LA and Chair of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), where he championed proficiency testing and developed accreditation programs for proficiency testing providers and calibration laboratories in the United States.

In his role on the NAPT Board, Unger will lead the development of a strategic plan to enhance engagement with accreditation bodies, streamline compliance guidance, and foster a more robust understanding of the essential role of proficiency testing in advancing measurement accuracy.
