What’s the difference between a proficiency test (PT) and an interlaboratory comparison (ILC)?

An Interlaboratory Comparison (ILC) involves comparing measurement results from multiple laboratories. The purpose of an ILC may include evaluating methods, standards, environmental influences, or the competency of laboratory personnel and processes. A Proficiency Test (PT) is a specific type of ILC, designed to evaluate technical competency or proficiency.

Does NAPT follow PT plans created in the Customer Portal?

Organizations can create a Proficiency Testing (PT) Plan directly within their NAPT Customer Portal. Upon request, NAPT staff are available to assist with the development a PT plan.
