The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to testing and calibration of Capacitance. Participants will measure 8 Capacitance values in the range (100 pF to 1 mF) using a 1 kHz signal with measurement uncertainty in the range (0.1 to 1.0) % of Reading. The artifact has nominal values of (100 pF, 1 nF, 10 nF, 100 nF, 1 µF, 10 µF, 100 µF, 1 mF) which have been characterized using a 1 kHz signal. This test may not appropriate for methods using other frequency test signals.
Participants are expected to be familiar with testing and calibration of Capacitance, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for testing and calibration of similar devices.
